Building the Path to Interoperability: Inside the 2026 Joint Blueprint from DTCC, Euroclear, and BCG
The joint white paper from DTCC, Euroclear, Clearstream, and Boston Consulting Group (released in early March 2026) is one of the clearest and most authoritative statements yet on the single biggest remaining barrier to large-scale tokenized securities adoption: interoperability.
At its core, the paper argues that tokenized assets (referred to as digital asset securities or DAS) will remain niche and inefficient unless the industry solves how different blockchains — and especially how blockchains and traditional financial market infrastructure (FMI) — can seamlessly interact.
Why Interoperability Is the Make-or-Break Issue
The authors do not mince words:
“Interoperability is a prerequisite for digital asset security adoption at scale.”
