In a dynamic cryptocurrency market, meme coins, including PEPE, SHIB, and DOGE, have witnessed a remarkable surge of up to 26% within the last 24 hours. This surge is attributed to a "spillover effect" from the notable growth observed in both Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Pepecoin (PEPE), shiba inu (SHIB), and dogecoin (DOGE) experienced significant gains of up to 26% within the past 24 hours, aligning with Ethereum's ascent towards the $4,000 mark, a level last witnessed in December 2021.

PEPE's impressive 26% jump reflects renewed optimism, while DOGE and SHIB rebounded from Thursday's losses, registering a 10% increase. The meme coin category, tracked on CoinGecko, exhibited an average sector growth of 8.6%, outpacing the broader CoinDesk 20 index, which rose by 2.53%.

The surge in bullish demand for Ethereum gained momentum in mid-January, driven by expectations that it would follow Bitcoin's lead in securing a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) approval in the U.S. Notably, Coinbase premiums for Ethereum ecosystem tokens have been higher than usual in the past week, indicating heightened demand led by U.S. investors, according to CryptoQuant.
