Shiba Inu’s Shytoshi Kusama Teases AI Project “Beyond Crypto” as On-Chain Supply Tightens

Shiba Inu ecosystem lead Shytoshi Kusama has published a series of new messages on X, pointing to an artificial intelligence initiative he described as going “beyond crypto.”

In his posts, Kusama directed the community back to his “AI Paper,” originally released in July 2025 through The Shib Magazine, encouraging followers to revisit the material in light of how rapidly AI development has progressed in recent months.

As previously reported, the July paper frames artificial intelligence through a fictional scenario and outlines a future marked by extreme disruption, including a projected 80% unemployment rate tied to accelerated AI adoption. In his latest commentary, Kusama positioned the paper as a conceptual guide for understanding how AI could evolve rather than a speculative thought experiment.

Kusama indicated that the project is nearing completion and suggested that disclosures will begin gradually. However, no product name, technical documentation, or release timeline was provided.

“Something That Helps People,” Not Another Crypto Product

In a longer follow-up thread later the same day, Kusama expanded on his motivation, framing the project as an alternative approach to how AI systems are currently being developed and controlled.

He described a lengthy period of experimentation involving different models, business structures, and partnership discussions. These talks reportedly included governments, investors, and private entities, though no specific organizations were named.

Kusama emphasized that the initiative is not intended to launch another token, meme project, or large-scale digital community.

The messaging suggests a more selective or purpose-driven application of AI rather than a mass-market crypto integration, though concrete implementation details remain undisclosed.

SHIB Supply Tightens as Whales Accumulate

Alongside the AI-related commentary, on-chain data points to notable changes in Shiba Inu (SHIB) supply dynamics.

According to CNF, whales have removed approximately 80 trillion SHIB from centralized exchanges over the past two months. Exchange balances declined from 370.3 trillion to 290.3 trillion SHIB, with new wallets reportedly withdrawing around 82 trillion SHIB from platforms such as Coinbase. This trend reduces available exchange supply and tightens liquidity.

At the same time, SHIB’s burn rate surged by 2,807% over a 24-hour period, with roughly 18.8 million SHIB permanently removed from circulation.
